Ixtapan de la Sal Marriott Hotel & Spa and Courtyard by Marriott Queretaro start of operations

Kiwapower, Ixtapan de la Sal Marriott Hotel & Spa (“Marriott Ixtapan”) and Courtyard by Marriott Queretaro (“Marriott Queretaro”) are pleased to announce the successful start of operations of two solar photovoltaic systems with capacities of 467 kW and a 120 kW, located on the rooftops of the two hotels, located in Estado de México and Querétaro, México. The solar systems are composed of about 790 and 203 solar modules respectively.

Marriott Ixtapan and Marriott Queretaro entered into Solar Energy Supply Agreements under which Kiwapower provides solar-energy-as-a-service to Marriott Ixtapan’s and Marriott Queretaro’s facilities. Kiwapower as the owner of the solar systems, is responsible for its installation, monitoring, management, and maintenance.

Kiwapower empowers Commercial & Industrial businesses in Mexico to achieve their energy transition goals by offering solar energy solutions that require no investment and that are simple and worry-free.

The photovoltaic systems are together expected to generate approximately 873 MWh annually, enough to supply the needs of 563 Mexican families, and avoid more than 383 tons of CO₂ emissions, supplying about 75% and 26% of Marriott Ixtapan and Marriott Queretaro facilities’ total power consumption.
